The Appenzell region is worth a visit during any season, and is possible to explore on a shorter or longer hiking tour. Take one of the aerial cable cars up to the surrounding summits and enjoy stunning views of the Swiss Alps. In summer you will have a rest in one of the many Alp farm-restaurants, and listen to the sound of cowbells over traditional Swiss cuisine. In winter you will walk on snow hiking trails and will become part of the magic wonderland.
Don’t miss exploring the little town of Appenzell with its picturesque houses, artisan shops, bakeries, and restaurants where you can taste local sweets and other delicacies like the famous Appenzell Swiss cheese.
